“ALL FOR YOU”, probably one of my favourite songs sung by Starfield. I just love the message of the song. Has a very simple chorus containing two phrases that goes like this:
“It’s all for YOU. It’s all for YOU. I’m letting go. I’m letting go.”
I began to think about the words of this song. I was reminded about the very reason why we exist! The very reason why we live, move, and breathe. In a world, busy, always on the move and full of distractions; it can become very easy to forget what that reason is! We get caught up and tangled in our stuff, our junk, our garbage, and it becomes about us. In just a matter time we find ourselves stuck or we find ourselves tired from all the stuff we are attached to or carrying. We try and try to get ourselves out or to keep carrying it on our own, but there will come a time when you can’t do anything (hopefully we realize it before that time comes). So what will you do? Will you continue to allow stuff to pile up in your life and continue to trust in yourself with your limited strength and power just to become stressed and tired? OR Will you decide to LET GO and LET GOD?
God, for the past serveral months has been pounding this thought into my head!
“IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU,IT’S ABOUT ME”
“IT’S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DO, IT’S ABOUT WHAT I’VE ALREADY DONE”
God, today just reminded me that it is ALL ABOUT HIM. The very reason why we live and breathe is to bring HIM pleasure.
I love these verses. It captures completely the idea of letting go in order to pursure God.
Philippians 3:7-14
7-9The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I’m tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant—dog dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ—God’s righteousness.
10-11I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.
12-14I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.
Everyone has stuff. Everyone has garbage. Everyone has junk. However, the difference is what you do it?
Do you hold onto it or let go of it?
LET GO and PURSUE JESUS
IT’S ALL ABOUT HIM
“ALL FOR YOU, I’M LETTING GO”
“ALL FOR YOU”
“God helps those who help themselves!” really?
How about “God helps those who can’t help themselves!”
Do you worry?
Are you ever anxious?
Do you fear?
I think most, if not all of us have experienced this feeling and still do! I think it is safe to say that we still do constantly worry; we still become anxious; and we still have fears. It may be worrying about having enough money to pay bills, or being anxious to find who that ”special someone” is, or fearful of the unseen future.
Maybe you have a dream for your life. At one point you believed that it was possible, but now you are losing hope and that dream that you once believed could happen is fading in the distance. Now you question, “Can it still happen?”
Now what do you do?
DO YOU TRUST YOURSELF OR DO YOU KEEP TRUSTING GOD?
Even when things seem IMPOSSIBLE to us and things don’t make sense logically when you think about it! When you feel as if nothing lines up!
DO YOU TRUST YOURSELF OR DO YOU KEEP TRUSTING GOD?
Naturally as humans, when we see things starting to fall apart, we try our best to fix it ourselves! We try to do our best to make it happen, whatever “it” may be. It’s just natural for us to do what is logical and what makes sense to us most of the time!
For example, Abraham! God promised him a child! He waited forever and it seemed impossible for him to have a child! At his age, 100 and his wife 90 and still nothing! So he decided to take it into his own hands thinking that he could help God out a little! haha as if God needed his help!! So he got this other chick who was much younger and more capable to bear a child. Seems logical right? yeah, but that’s not what God had planned!
That’s what we do sometimes! We take things into our own hands because it just seems logical and we think we could do something to make it happen!
So Abraham and his wife did “IT” at the age of 100 and 90 trying to have a child. Picture it or not haha. Ridiculous? IMPOSSIBLE? YEAH!!! FOR US, BUT NOT FOR GOD!!! They trusted in God’s promise that GOD would give them a child! One not out of their own doing, but one that was only possible by the HIS WORK!
What will you do when things seem like things are getting out of hand, when things are falling apart, when things seem like it is impossible? When you are beginning to worry, become anxious, and have fear?
WILL YOU TRUST YOURSELF OR WILL YOU TRUST GOD?
If you are in CHRIST, you are an adopted son or daughter of God! When God sees you He sees His SON, Jesus! As a Father, He will take care of HIS Son that he loves. Since we are in CHRIST, HE will most definitely take care of us because He sees HIS SON in us!
Why worry? Why be anxious? why fear?
